The First Blaze Trail Race

Saturday, Jul 11, 202609:00 - 10:45
Kelso Conservation Area5234 Kelso Road, Milton ON, Canada

Follow the blaze painted in 1962. No shortcuts.

Run the full Toronto Bruce Trail section guided only by white blazes, just like hikers have since July 1962. No course flagging, no hand-holding. Pass the original first blaze plaque, then crawl through Limehouse's 'Hole in the Wall' and climb out on a wooden ladder. Some adventures are earned.

Highlights

  • Walk through a cave, then climb out on a wooden ladder.

  • 50K begins at 450-million-year-old ancient seabed formations.

  • Cross a high 1981 bridge visible from the highway 3km away.

  • Run the entire Toronto Bruce Trail section, unflagged.

  • Pass the plaque marking the Bruce Trail's very first blaze (1962).
